What's the best way to take care of my home?
Starting on move-in day, you, as the tenant, are responsible for your apartment. You should treat it with care and respect. Here are some tips and advice to help you:
- Be careful with the floors. Vacuum and wipe them down with a slightly damp cloth.
- Painted walls can be gently wiped down with a slightly damp cloth.
- Defrost and clean your refrigerator and freezer regularly.
- Clean your range hood, filters, and vents—grease buildup increases the risk of fire.
- Wipe away grease stains from the stove and oven to prevent them from burning on.
- Clean the drains regularly to prevent clogs.
- Please sort your trash carefully at the recycling stations. Cardboard, glass, metal, and bulky items should be taken to recycling centers.
As a tenant, you are responsible for clearing snow from your patio or balcony.
Hanging balcony planters may only be hung facing inward.
How do I report a problem?
If something isn't working in your apartment or building, as a tenant, you should submit a repair request via My Pages. All damage and defects must be reported immediately. Damage that is not reported in a timely manner may result in you being liable for the cost of repairs.
Can I have pets in my rental apartment?
Yes, you are allowed to have pets. As a pet owner, you are responsible for following the applicable rules and showing consideration for your neighbors, while also ensuring that the property is kept in good condition.
- Make sure your pet doesn't disturb the neighbors.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash outdoors.
- Walking dogs in the courtyard or on green spaces is prohibited.
- Stairs for cats leading from the ground to a balcony or window are prohibited.
- Poisonous animals require a permit from the County Administrative Board.
- Damage to the apartment caused by pets is considered normal wear and tear.
Can I make changes to my apartment?
Of course, you’re welcome to personalize your rental unit and make it feel like home. However, to prevent damage to the property, there are a few rules you need to follow:
- Drilling into bathroom walls is not permitted.
- In the other rooms, you can hang things like pictures and shelves. The walls are made of OSB and drywall.
- Drilling into the facade or other exterior walls is not permitted.
- Painting, wallpapering, or other major alterations may not be carried out without written approval from Sakofall.
Please note that abnormal wear and tear or damage to the apartment may result in costs for the tenant upon moving out.
What counts as a disturbance?
To ensure everyone feels comfortable in the building, we need to be considerate of one another. Unnecessary noise and disturbances should be avoided, especially in the evenings and at night. Disturbances can include, for example:
- Loud music or loud conversations
- Late-night parties
- Noisy footsteps in stairwells or other common areas
- Disorder on the balcony or in common areas
Times to be extra quiet:
- Weekdays: 10:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Weekends: 11:00 PM–8:00 AM
Complaints regarding disturbances can only be filed if the disturbance occurs on the property’s premises.
How do I report a problem?
If you experience a non-urgent issue, please report it via My Pages/Report a Problem. Please describe what happened and when the issue occurred.
If the outage is currently ongoing, please contact our outage hotline at 010-210 90 00.
In an emergency or serious situation, you should always call 112.
What are the rules regarding smoke alarms and fire safety in my apartment?
All Sakofall apartments are equipped with smoke detectors. If you do not have a smoke detector, please contact us via the fault report on My Pages. You are responsible for regularly checking the smoke detector and replacing the batteries as needed.
In case of fire:
- Save yourself and those in immediate danger.
- Warn others.
- Call SOS Alarm at 112.
- Extinguishthe fire if you can do so without putting yourself at risk.
In case of a fire in your apartment – evacuate! Close the door behind you to limit the spread of smoke and fire.
