Sakofall is taking over the land and the Polhems Backe housing cooperative project in the Tallbacken area of Falun from HSB MälarDalarna. The deal means that Sakofall, as a local player, will continue to develop the area with the goal of building new Tenant-owned homes.
The Brf Polhems Backe project includes plans for new Tenant-owned homes in the attractive Tallbacken neighborhood of Falun. Through this transaction, Sakofall is taking over development of the project from HSB MälarDalarna, which, given the current market conditions, sees greater value in facilitating housing development through collaboration with another partner than in carrying out the construction itself. Sakofall now intends to continue the development and bring the plans for new homes in Falun to fruition.

In connection with the transaction, the parties have also signed a property management agreement under which HSB MälarDalarna will continue to manage Sakofall’s properties. The agreement lays the foundation for continued long-term cooperation between the parties and ensures that future members will have access to HSB’s collective expertise in property management and member services.

This deal is an example of how collaboration between different stakeholders can help keep
housing construction moving forward, even in a challenging market. By having Sakofall take over a project developed by HSB MälarDalarna—which Sakofall can now bring to fruition—the conditions are being created for more new homes in Falun.
