Sustainability

Sustainability as a common thread throughout the business

The Sakofall Group conducts responsible and long-term sustainability work where we actively contribute to several of the UN's global goals for sustainable development. Our business is permeated by a holistic approach to sustainability, ecologically, socially and economically, with the goal of building homes that contribute to a more sustainable society, both today and for future generations.

Objective 3 | Good health and well-being

Construction phase and site

We work actively to ensure that our construction sites are safe and secure, with clear requirements for health and safety and decent working conditions. We aim for zero workplace accidents on our projects.

We set clear requirements for our suppliers, including that they ensure good working conditions and contractual wages for their staff.

The construction site should be organized with a focus on the safety and well-being of everyone working there. The contractor must have well-functioning procedures for systematic work environment management, so that safety is integrated into every stage of the construction process.

Energy

To reduce our climate impact, we build energy-efficient homes with smart technical solutions. Our houses meet the requirements for energy class B, which means low energy consumption over time. As an option, we offer solar cells that provide access to renewable energy directly to the property and for those who drive electric cars, there is also the possibility to choose charging posts.

Living and working

Sustainability also includes how we plan and design living environments. By integrating solutions such as bicycle parking, good waste sorting facilities and spaces for cultivation, we create conditions for residents to live more sustainably.

Building materials

In our choice of materials, we prioritize wood in frames and facades and insulation with wood fiber, which are solutions that are not only natural and sustainable but also contribute to a significantly lower climate impact compared to conventional construction methods. We use prefabricated building components to reduce material waste and streamline the construction process, which also contributes to a more resource-efficient production.

Outdoor environments and climate adaptations

We consider natural values and ecosystem services in every project, with the aim of preserving or enhancing biodiversity. This is done through initiatives such as meadows, natural land, and pollinator-friendly plants in the outdoor environment.

Sustainability work is not a sideline, but an integrated part of our business concept. It is a natural part of how we develop the housing of the future with consideration for both people and the environment.
